The celestial position of the sun in the wider cosmos determines the capabilities of the life living within its surrounding habitable planets.
The following solar meditation has been designed to break cosmic limitations by forming a relationship with the sun and using its plentiful energy uniquely. Even when the sun is not seen and its heat is not felt, its energy is ever present.
Surya Arghya
Within the first hour of sunrise on an empty stomach and bathed, fill a copper utensil with water and hold above your head with both hands outdoors. Position yourself barefoot in the direction of the sun without looking directly at it. Whilst displaying gratitude begin slowly pouring the water out and look carefully through the stream at the sun. As sun light passes through water, it is divided into seven colours which spread through our entire body offering health benefits. During the first hour of sunrise the sun's rays omit a higher concentrated amount of Vitamin D and having just bathed our skin is more absorbent to the rays.
Surya Namaskar
Salutations to the sun continue. The Surya Namaskar is a collection of postures arranged to increase strength and stamina, while offering gratitude to the sun, a crucial element of creation. The sun salutations sequence helps to calm digestion, enliven the nervous system, balance your breathing and positively influence your mental awareness. This yoga practice ignites the energy of the sun, which normally lies dormant in the solar plexus chakra, to circulate the healing power of the sun to our mind and body, inspiring more motivation for a pleasant meditation session.
Breathwork
The following is a breathing technique to prepare you for meditation.
Sit crossed legged. Hold the waist, spine, chest, neck and head upright. Without motion, fix the eyes at the tip of the nose and the mind steadily between the eyebrows. Find a steady momentum in your breath observing each inhalation and exhalation. With ease, in through your nose for a count of four. Slowly exhale through your nose for a count of four. Repeat this cycle ten times.
Focus only on the concentration of your breathing to regulate your actuality. Your mind is still in this manner and your consciousness becomes reality. Similarly to when you dream, except then it is your unconscious that is regulating.
The main objectives of this deep breathing exercise are to strengthen your ability for directing your thoughts, raise your vibration and rejuvenate your cells through oxygenating them. This has tremendous therapeutic and metabolic value. After the breathing exercise you are ready to begin a twenty minute solar meditation session.
Solar Meditation
Keeping the same technique. Visualise that you are light, from sub atomic level to your physical form and surroundings. The light is the vibration of your consciousness, which connects to higher levels of consciousness through the sun.
Visualise the opulence of the sun. Inhale through your nose taking a deep breath and say the word Om (Aum), completing the word in ten seconds. Repeat. The sound of Om, known as the sound of nature when chanted, vibrates at the frequency of 432 Hz, which is the same vibrational frequency found throughout everything in nature.
While saying the word, visualise that the word is starting from the base of your spine where your root chakra is located, then rising up your spine to finally move out from the middle of your eyebrows up to your crown chakra. The first syllable A starts from the base of your spine, the middle syllables O-U rise up the entire spinal column, the last syllable M moves out from the middle of your eyebrows. This completes one cycle.
As you repeat the cycles, you should feel at ease to circulate the sound Aum through your spinal column, release it from the middle of your eyebrows and again start from your spinal base. After the first few cycles you will have found your own rhythm in circulating the sound, thus stimulating the pineal gland resulting in your chakras being activated by moving kundalini through them.
Remaining focused on cycling the sound Aum alone will prevent unwanted thoughts entering your meditation. Shortly, you will feel a resonance with your energy and the vibration of your consciousness. When this happens the sound energy has merged with your light and enters you into a higher frequency. You are now in cahoots with the sun. A connection has been established that just like any friendship requires maintenance. As you complete the cycles, take slow and full breathes, offer the sun gratitude once again for serving the earth with limitless, reliable and literally out of this world energy.
Finish with a prayer or mantra, visualising your intentions.
